In this tutoring course, students will become more confident and proficient in different skills. As a seasoned and current upper elementary teacher, I understand the importance and value of one on one instruction for students who need additional support. I aim to provide helpful strategies to allow students to feel confident when completing independent assignments and assessments. This course can be used to prepare for an upcoming assessment or standardized test or just simple weekly "maintenance" to make sure that your learner is not falling behind in school! Before each session, I will notify parents and students to send me the skills that the child is working on or struggling with and I will create a interactive lesson centered around that skill. These personalized lessons will include reteaching the skill, if necessary, and on-grade level and extension questions to push the student's thinking. Possible topics can include, but are not limited to: Multiplication fact fluency, Reading Comprehension Practice, Grammar skills and application in writing (subject verb agreement, figurative language, etc.). This tutoring course is available for as long as you like and parents can unenroll when the tutoring is no longer needed! School can be tricky, but one on one instruction can be just the solution your learner needs!

Hello! I am Bria Pete and I am so excited to meet your learner. I currently live in Georgia, and I am finishing my 13th year as an elementary educator. I have taught 3rd and 4th grade for 8 years, served as an instructional coach for 5 years, and recently returned to the classroom as a 5th grade teacher!
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University and Troy University, respectively. I also have an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Kennesaw University, as well as a Gifted endorsement. In addition to my B&M experience, I have taught ESL online and provide 1:1 private tutoring.
I strongly believe that a classroom should be inviting, engaging, motivating, and rigorous. This is the type of classroom I aim to have (in-person and virtually), by providing guided practice, differentiated and interactive activities, and personalized feedback… with some laughs along the way. :)
