US Grade Preschool - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this one-on-one class, we will work on skills or drawing subjects specific to what each student is interested in. For example, we may sketch or draw animals, still life, portrait, figurative, or landscape. Each drawing lesson will build on a foundation of the elements and principles of art. This shorter session is perfect for making sketches and quick drawings, or focusing on specific skills. The class is designed to be a fun exploration of drawing as it relates to each students' interests. Class structure: -5 minutes to check in and view slide presentation -20 minutes to draw -5 minutes to share and ask questions Drawing skills: -sketching with shape -contour line or outline - shape and proportion -perspective -line variety -value (lights and darks) -texture Here are some examples of 1:1 lessons: 1) Drawing Animals (ex: tiger, octopus, zebra, jaguar, parrot) 2) Drawing People (ex: athlete, dancer, gardener, doctor) 3) Drawing Portraits (ex: showing emotion of happiness or boredom, wearing a hat, in the weather) 4) Drawing in Perspective (ex: city sidewalk, interior room, futuristic city) 4) Landscapes (ex: mountains, beach) As the instructor, I will set up two cameras- one that shows myself talking and one that shows my hand drawing. I encourage sharing and discussion, however it is optional. Students may follow along with me or interpret the subject in their own unique way. I strive to create a relaxing and supportive classroom environment. I look forward to drawing with you!
