Class Experience

In this private tutoring class, I hope to meet your learner's needs by setting up a private space for them to create and explore in. Together, we can work on art and crafting projects, improve on art skills and explore new crafts! I teach a wide range of classes on Outschool, including fine arts, dance, sewing, crafting, theater and poetry. In a private setting we can take some time to explore your learner's passions. Here are some of the topics I offer private lessons for:

- Traditional fine arts (acrylic, watercolor and oil painting)
- Modern art history with hands-on art projects
- Crafting and fiber/textile arts: sewing, cross-stitch, embroidery, fiber dyeing (including tie-dye and batik)
- Poetry analysis with art/craft projects
- Nature studies
- Baking and cooking
- Unschooling ideas and "strewing" ideas

As an unschooling mom of three, I value self-expression and self-directed learning. I view education as a personal journey, and my role as facilitator is to inspire and encourage. As in all of my classes, I focus on meeting my students where they are and working together to explore our favorite topics in a safe, supportive environment.

I recommend messaging me prior to enrolling to discuss your learner's needs and to set up a custom time slot that works for you, or submit a schedule request and I will respond with my available time slots that match your request. With the ongoing class format, you pay a weekly subscription, and you can start and stop your subscription at any time. Upon enrollment we will mutually agree on an outline of topics to cover each week, which will be adjusted weekly based on your learner's preference.

Please reach out if you have any questions. I am experienced with children of various ages, backgrounds and abilities, including special needs. I look forward to meeting your learner!
Learning Goals
Learners will flourish under the calming atmosphere of self-directed learning, with a qualified facilitator to encourage them along the way. The goal of this class is to focus on the needs of the learner and help boost their confidence and motivation to learn and try new things!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am an experienced homeschooling mom of three who has been unschooling my children since they were babies! I have led many homeschooling co-ops & workshops, and am very involved with local homeschooling programs, including a nonprofit co-op that I operate for local homeschoolers. I am an experienced Outschool teacher and teach all of these subjects regularly on the platform, as well as locally. As an artist, I have owned by own textile arts business that included sewing, dyeing and painting fabric professionally.
