Class Experience
This is a private cello lesson class. I will work one on one with the student for 30 minutes once a week. Once I determine the student's level after our first class, I will select the appropriate level method book. For the absolute beginner, we will use the Essential Elements for Strings Book 1, and for the other students, we will use the appropriate level of Suzuki Cello School Book. Each lesson will consists of warm up, which may be scales, etudes, or totalization exercises. Then we will do the assigned piece from their method book. And through each piece, we will talk about intonation, bow placement, bowing techniques, finger placement, finger techniques, rhythm, and musicality. Each student will work at their own pace. And I will adjust my teaching style to suit each student's needs. For the students who are younger or needs extra help, the parents are welcome to sit in the class to provide assistance (for example, to help adjust their posture or bow hold, or help with marking in their music).
