Class Experience
This one to one yoga experience enables a tailored and personalised Hatha yoga class. Classes can be adapted and focused specifically for the student- dependent on what their learning objective may be for the class. For example, some students choose to focus on yoga for movement, whilst others may benefit from more focus on relaxation. The classes will follow a general structure of setting an intention for practice, engaging in gratitude, breathing practice (pranayama), warming up the body, a yoga sequence and relaxation to end the class. Classes are one time but students may engage in classes on an ongoing basis- which can support a more personalised and tailored experience as I get to know their level of experience, what works best for them and we can agree areas of focus. This may be learning more about yoga, focusing more on breath or relaxation or focusing on a specific area of the body or asana. My area of expertise is around mental health and emotional wellbeing and psycho-education can be provided around how aspects of yoga can support as strategies in managing day to day stresses or anxieties, whilst understanding these strategies do not fir for everybody. For example, using the breath to regulate our nervous system and support when feeling stressed and/or anxious, or how movement in yoga (and exercise in general) can support when feeling low in energy, which can be helpful when feeling low in mood. Alongside this, strategies such as journaling and gratitude practice can support in recognising feelings and learning to look out for the positives in each day. Please note, this session provides some psycho education. However, this is not a substitute for therapy and will not cover in depth and personal mental health issues. No previous experience necessary
