Get Reading Ready This Summer - Phonics and Reading Summer Camp!

Welcome to my class everyone!

All ages and abilities are welcome! 1st - 5th grade / Year 2 - Year 6!

This class is for anyone from the very beginning level of phonics to the most advanced reader.

In this summer camp the lessons will be dictated by your learners needs. This class meets 4 times a week and what we do is completely up to you. If phonics is the choice then we will work through the systematic stages of phonics weather it be phase 1, 2 or 3 (Whatever stage your child it up to) we will practice saying, writing and blending them to get reading ready. I have a middle stage of phonics books with just CVC words which can increase your learners level ready for school. I also have Oxford Reading Tree books with Biff, Chip and Kipper that can be used for more advanced levels. The last option is advanced reading comprehensions about animals, space or fiction stories. 

I will then make a lesson plan for your child that spreads over the 8 lessons, I have hundreds of resources so no two lesson plans will be the same. Your child will be at the centre of the lessons!

I make my lessons a mix of active teaching, games and applied work. I am a qualified teacher with a child psychology degree and believe happy and confident children thrive with their learning. I am calm, patient and extremely encouraging with lots of praise. Mistakes will never be criticised, as mistakes are part of learning.
