Is your learner struggling in reading, writing, or other areas? One-on-one tutoring is often the best way for learners to make progress in subjects that are difficult for them. Each session is customized to your learner's needs. The first step is for me to get to know your child. When you register, you will receive a brief questionnaire asking about your child's learning needs, strengths, interests, and more. This information will help me to prepare for our first tutoring session together. Not only will this help me to choose activities for our first session, it will also help me to have some topics ready to "break the ice" with your learner. In our first class together, we will chat and do 1-2 fun activities to warm up and help your child to feel comfortable. Then we will move on to more academically-focused activities based on the questionnaire that you will have answered. In future classes, I will create activities and homework to target the areas where your child needs the most help. Activities will be chosen based on your child's interests and learning style. Please note: For this amount of time (25 minutes), we will usually cover 1 main subject area per class (for example: reading comprehension only, or writing sentences only). If your child needs a longer block of time or more frequent meetings, please let me know and I will create a tutoring class to meet those needs. I am a patient, caring, and enthusiastic teacher, and my desire is to help your child to succeed and become confident! I look forward to meeting and working with your child!
