During our private online class Learners will learn about Minecraft game development which cover a range of topics designed to be both educational and engaging, tailored to the age and skill level of the students. Here’s an outline of what the class might cover a variety of these may be covered during the time in class together, these will change and be adaptable depending on the level of each learner: Introduction to Minecraft and Game Development: Overview of Minecraft as a game and a platform for creativity. Basic concepts of game design and development. Setting goals and objectives for what they want to create. Playing Minecraft: Basic gameplay mechanics for those who are new to the game. Understanding different game modes (Survival, Creative, Adventure). Introduction to Minecraft Creative Mode: Using Creative Mode for building and design. Basic and advanced building techniques. Resource management and planning. Basic Redstone Mechanics: Introduction to redstone and its uses in Minecraft. Creating simple redstone circuits and machines. Problem-solving with redstone to create interactive features. Using Command Blocks: Basics of command block usage. Simple commands and command block chains. Building mini-games or simple automated systems using command blocks. World Customization: Overview of biomes and world types. Terraforming and world editing basics. Introduction to mods or world editing tools like WorldEdit (depending on the age and skill level). Basic Principles of Game Design: Understanding the elements of game design: rules, objectives, play mechanics, and player engagement. Encouraging creativity and originality in design. Collaborative Projects: Working in teams or groups to build a project. Planning and executing a larger build or game within Minecraft. Peer review and feedback sessions. Introduction to Minecraft Modding (for older or more advanced students): Basics of modding and the Minecraft Forge platform. Simple modifications to the game (e.g., creating a new item or block). Introduction to coding concepts using Minecraft as a platform. Online Safety and Etiquette: Best practices for online safety. Understanding server rules and etiquette. Encouraging respectful and constructive collaboration. Showcase and Presentation: Students present their projects to the class. Discussing what was learned and the challenges faced. Providing constructive feedback to peers. Throughout the course, the instructor will focus on fostering a fun and interactive learning environment. Hands-on activities, combined with some theoretical knowledge, to keep the classes engaging. Each class may be adjested by depth and complexity to fit the overall curriculum.

Parental Guidance
Students will be using devices that are connected to Minecraft. Please be aware of interenet and gaming saftey and remind learners to not share their gaming handles.
Supply List
Pen, paper and another device with minecraft loaded is beneficial. Learners will play on a secure system on minecraft.
