Class Experience

In this summer camp course that meets 4 times in 1 week for 90 minutes each session, students will be able to learn more about some of their favorite Disney princesses through dance. This camp is perfect for your little princess or prince looking to try out different dance styles or to continue their training in the summer. We will spend each day learning about a different princess. Each day will start with me reading a picture book about the selected princess. We will then start our dance part of the class and dance to music from that specific princess's movie. Throughout the 4 days, we will go over ballet and jazz styles of dance. This is camp is perfect for students wanting to try out dance or want to continue dancing in the summer. 

Course Outline:
Day 1: Rapunzel (Tangled)
Day 2: Ariel 
Day 3: Belle
Day 4: Elsa and Anna

Each day outline:
Introductions/greetings
Read aloud about selected princess
Begin dancing to soundtrack of selected princess's movie
Warmup
Center work (Work on certain movements that will be in the dance we learn at the end)
Combination (We will learn a short routine)
Closing (discuss what we learned)

Learning Goals

Students will gain knowledge about ballet and jazz dance styles while dancing along to popular Disney princess soundtracks.

Parental Guidance

Parents, please make sure students have enough room to move around and are wearing comfortable clothing that they can move in! They are also welcome to dress as their favorite princess or prince!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have been dancing since I was 3 years old, training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and musical theater. In high school, I helped teach dance classes at the local dance studio I attended and I was also on my college dance team!
