Class Experience

This group will meet once per week for two months to learn about social skills. This course will teach children about reading social cues, greetings, initiating/maintaining conversations, identifying expected/unexpected behaviors, making friends, and more. Class time will include direct instruction of social skills and interactive opportunities. Extensive research on the effects of social skills training on children with these challenges shows that social skills instruction is effective in reducing a child's experience of school failure or rejection as well as the aggressiveness and isolation that often develop because of problems relating to others. Please note that this is a group/class and is NOT therapy.
