Press Start Book #2: Super Rabbit Boy Powers Up! (Flex Class)
What's included
Class Experience
In this 4-session flexible schedule course, students will dive into the world of Animal Town for book #2 in the Press Start Series! This is the perfect book for reluctant or struggling readers. This class is a flexible schedule class and will not meet for any live sessions. Each week, students will be sent a video read aloud of me reading few chapters from the book (schedule below). After the read aloud, students will complete interactive assignments using platforms such as Kahoot and Google Forms. Once completed, students will share their work with me (step by step directions will be sent after enrollment). I will give feedback each week on submitted work. Students do not need a copy of the book, as I will be reading the book aloud, as well as showing the text and pictures. The video recordings will be available during the entire length of the class so students may return to the video and re-watch at their convenience. When students submit their assignments, I will give my feedback through the Outschool classroom. Each week, I will post questions for students to answer and I will answer any student questions on the classroom page as well. Students are expected to respond to other students' responses and share their thoughts. This type of class is great for students who want to take classes at a time that best fits their schedule. It also works well for students who are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with the live online class format. Each week, students will receive a link for a Kahoot game to answer comprehension questions over chapters read and also a link to a Google Form for a reading response activity. In addition, there will also be drawing assignments and other types of reading response activities to go along each the book. Detailed instructions will be provided upon enrollment. Your child will love this interactive and new spin on reading comprehension! While teaching 2nd grade, I had many struggling and reluctant readers. This book was a lifesaver for me and many parents! Due to the high interest pictures and story, my students were very engaged in reading often begged me to read more. I had many students that would leave 2nd grade reading above grade level due to this book series.
