Class Experience

As an experienced Radio/Live/TV/Online/Video Presenter, Teacher, and Storyteller I have picked up lots of ideas, tips, and techniques about how to present myself. The fact that I started life as a very quiet child is living proof that they really work too.

In this 2 week class, we will look at how to present ourselves better, to improve our public speaking, ready for class creating Vlogs, presenting YouTube content or Podcasts, or building confidence, for wannabe TV/radio/live/online presenters or even for future interviews.

In our first class we will look at improving the ways we present ourselves verbally. Then in our second class we will focus on our non-verbal presentation. We will also look at how many of these can be useful even when you are only using your voice.

Mrs. T will also post feedback and a re-cap of what has been taught in the classroom after each class.

Learning Goals

Learners will learn how to present themselves more professionally (verbally and non verbally) through tips, techniques, and personal anecdotes from a presenter across many media. Those that take part in the homework tasks will also get personalised feedback to help them progress further.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Non-US Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of Southampton
I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 18 years of experience teaching Drama (and some Music, PSHCE, and English) to 11 to 15 years olds and Performing Arts to 16 to 18 year olds in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time, including running small group and 1:1 confidence building  workshops. I also have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like create a play in a week) and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16.

As a professional actress, I've performed to children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties,  nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way.

I then branched into presenting (live, events, radio, some TV, and for holiday companies across Europe) including some Voiceover work. I currently create and present drama and presenter tuition videos.

I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.
