Class Experience

🔵 I will teach word family ending speech sounds with sight words. The children will learn the ending ‘family’ and then practice the whole word together.
🔵 I will cover all the ending word family sounds over the course of 2 months. The word endings we will cover are Ad, Ain, Ake, All, Am, An, And, Ap, Ar, At, Ate, Ay, Ed, Ee, Eep, El, En, Ent, Est, Et, Ie, Ig, Ike, Ill, Ing, Ish, Ite, Oat, Ock, Og, Old, Oo, Ook, Ool, Oon, Op, Ot, Ow, Ox, Oy, Ug, Un, Us. After learning the ending sounds, we will cover the beginning sounds with blended letters.
🔵 I will start class with a welcome song and question of the day. Then I will have the kids get out their printable worksheet to follow along with the letters, sounds and words. We will go through about 5 ending word families each class. After, I will have each child one by one practice saying the word ending, sound and words for understanding and practice. Then we will play a circle word the word or picture game. I will end with any questions for me, an ending question for the kids and a goodbye song.
🔵 My teaching style is being interactive with the kids and give them time to practice and say the letter sounds and words, while being encouraging and in a friendly environment. Mistakes do happen and it’s all about learning from them and practicing more to correct them.
🔵 There will be a worksheet to print before class to follow along and to practice more at home after the class. Practicing during the week is strongly encouraged to practice speech sounds and pronunciation.
