Welcome to an inclusive, loving, and FUN circle time class! This class is perfect for any learner who is ready to build foundational skills, or those who may benefit from a fun way to review and solidify skills they have already gained; great as a supplement or for homeschool families. Many different learning styles and modes will be incorporated in every class meeting. Weekly themes will be utilized to incorporate high-interest learning and keep learners excited for each and every week! Lessons will include music, movement, fingerplays, chants, rhymes, crafts, sharing, and more! Lessons will be taught using props, posters, visuals, and some (limited) slides so that students will get the most interaction with real-world people and learning possible. This is a full curriculum class, so a wide variety of subjects and skills will be covered. Learners are welcome to join at any time, and do not have to be enrolled from the beginning of the course to join. We will begin each class with a greeting or share, then dive into our learning activities. Each child will be welcomed to participate in many ways throughout the meeting. Some of the skills we will target include: -Letter names, sounds, and formation -Foundational reading skills -Sight words (as ready) -Comprehension -Sequencing -Early writing skills -Numbers -Patterns -Sorting -Colors -Shapes -Science topics (weather, seasons, sun/earth/moon, living and nonliving things) -Fine motor -Gross Motor -Following directions -Social skills -Oral communication **Weekly Schedule is as follows:** Day 1: Reading / Prewriting skills and Writing / Phonics -review of letter names, sounds, and formation -Foundational reading skills -Sight words (as ready) -Cvc words -Comprehension -Sequencing -Rhyming -Syllables -Word families -Early writing skills -Directed drawing -Sentence structure and more! Day 2: Math / Science -Number ID and formation -Quantity discrimination -Comparing -Patterns -Sorting -Colors -Shapes -Simple addition and subtraction -Science/SS concepts based on each week's theme - see below and more! Optional worksheets and activity ideas will be offered each week, for those parents and guardians wishing to continue practice outside of class. Skills addressed subject to change slightly as the learners prgress. We will move at the speed of the class, as assessed each week during live meetings. Suggested materials include: Pencil and notebook or paper (does not need to be lined - but if so, look for wide lines!) Crayons, colored pencils, or markers Dry erase board and marker Optional extension activities provided each week may require additional supplies, which will be listed on the resource sheet.
