Preschool / Pre-K Summer Camp Playtime With Ms. Julie and Pippa
Class Experience
In Ms. Julie and Pippa's classes, we focus on keeping kids connected, engaged, learning and giggling. Each week (or in each "section") we will cover new and exciting content while building friendships and confidence. We will follow a similar schedule in every 30-minute class: - Sing good morning and check on our friends' feelings; time for learners to share their thoughts and interact with each other - Learn something new - Sing or play a fun and silly game with our new knowledge - Move...
This class is taught in English.
- Students will learn and review their alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors, and social/emotional vocabulary and skills. The children (and their parents!) will also have learn new songs, dances, and games to take with them outside of class throughout the day. Reading a book each day will strengthen early literacy skills, and our share-outs will allow children to practice and refine social skills with their peers.
I am well into my third year of teaching preschool and kindergarten classes here on Outschool. I taught theatre, English, and offered literacy coaching and support for five years in both Colorado and New York City. In that time, I also taught a social/emotional curriculum to a group of girls once per week. I have BFAs in both theatre and English, as well as an MFA in acting and an MA in education with an emphasis in culturally diverse learners. I recently received my certification as a paraprofessional or educational assistant, and have experience working with kids with ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, and ASD both in-person and on Outschool.
Assessment
Frequency: available upon requestDetails: Students will be assessed verbally through participation and frequent check-ins throughout each class.
Drawing/coloring materials (paper and markers, crayons, or colored pencils)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
We'll be moving and grooving, so enough space to stand up and move around is a plus! If that's not an option for your kiddo, don't worry. We can always adjust accordingly. We do a lot of imaginary play in my classes. Violent and/or weapon-related play is allowed. When we have show-and-tell, toy weapons are not an option for sharing. Thanks!
