Thank you for viewing and considering this class. This class is for young learners ages 3 years - 5 years old. TEACHER: Ms. Kora Best Fit for the Class: It is best for your learner if they take this class in the morning and during breakfast time. Everyone is encouraged to bring their breakfast so that we can discuss our food choices. This class focuses on building social skills such as engaging in group activities, sharing with others, listening to others, taking turns, and building rapport with others within the peer group. Also, during the class, we will discuss each learner's morning routine by using a sentence frame for discussion and identify the food group that their breakfast belongs. Learners will learn about: -Different Food groups (brief review of food groups and grouping food items in categories) - Use Sentence Frames to communicate their morning routines (When I wake up... or In the morning... or This morning...) - Use Sentence Frame ( Today the weather is...) - Taking turns and how to be active listeners Structure: - Sing Good Morning Song - Sharing Time/ Question of the Day: What are you having for breakfast today? - Teacher Facilitated: Review the food Group Chart: The teacher will help the learner identify the food group that their breakfast belongs - Teacher Facilitated: The Teacher will read a story while each learner listens and eats their breakfast quietly. Closing Activity - Say Goodbye/ Sing the Goodbye Song WEEKLY: This class is offered each week. A different book will be read each week. However, the structure and questions remain the same. BOOK READING Week of July 12: Llama Llama Red Pajama Week of July 19: If you give a mouse a cookie Week of July 26: Princess Sheba and The Color Purple Week of August 2: Five little monkeys NOTE: Please be advised and consider that this class format works best if there is a minimum of 2 learners in the class. If this class does not meet the 2 learner minimum; it will be canceled and you will be notified via Outschool email. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello, I am Mrs. Thakore Lewis ( Ms. Kora). I have been an Educator for 25 years and I am the Founder and Owner of SmartKids Preschool Enrichment. I have been teaching on Outschool since 2017.
I decided to become an organization on Outschool in 2021. Currently, there are 2 Teachers for Smartkids; which includes me ( Ms. Kora) and Mrs. Mitchell.

We offer Enrichment Classes for students ages 3 years- 12 years old. We are passionate about working with children in this particular age group because we are both experienced Early Childhood Educators who have worked in the traditional classroom as well as in the virtual classroom.
We offer a variety of classes to support children's learning and interests through our Preschool 3's, Pre-Kinder (4- 5 yrs), and Kinder classes as well as Specific interest classes for ages 5 years- 12 years old such as Japanese Haiku Poetry Writing, English as a Second Language, Character Education and other great classes.

Overall, my background is in Teaching, Program Leadership, Virtual Teaching, School Management, and Curriculum Development in Preschool - Elementary.
I have a Masters in Early Childhood Education, TESOL ( Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)Certification, and currently pursuing a Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Licensure.
25 years in Early Childhood Education ( teaching Pre-K -5th grade), Director of Large private Preschools for 19 years, College Professor( Education Department) , ESL Teacher (6 years), Published Children's Book Author, Nationally Approved Early Childhood Education Trainer/ Consultant.
Over my 25 years as an Educator I have worked in multiple capacities, created and managed several schools, and trained hundreds of educators.

Mrs. Mitchell
has a Bachelor of Business Administration and a School Paraprofessional Certification(Pre-K-5th grade). She is currently continuing her education to attain a Master's of Arts in Early Childhood Education degree and has been working with Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten ages for 14 years.
I have worked with Mrs. Mitchell since 2015. I have had the opportunity to work with her in the traditional classroom and in the virtual classroom environment. She is as passionate about teaching Early Learners as I am which is one of the qualifications to work with SmartKids.
Together we bring more than 38 YEARS of Early Childhood Education experience and we both Homeschool our children.
The biggest thing about (us) SmartKids is that we are advocates for Early Literacy so you will find that oral communication, vocabulary building, and higher-order thinking is embedded in our teaching approach.
We are passionate about eliciting language and critical thinking; even with Preschoolers.
We are equally advocates for Early Childhood Education because it is the foundation of all learning.
