Assessment
In the first class, an assessment will be given to the student in both math and literacy skills to set a baseline.Class Experience
US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Students will participate in focused math and literacy preschool lessons each week. This class will provide your child with individualized attention. The course will be interactive, with many discussions and hands-on activities to complete together in a fun learning environment. Students will use their set of cards, manipulatives, and play dough to complete the activities. Our concepts will include activities that include matching, sorting, creating, counting, building, and speaking about these math and literacy skills. New ideas are taught each week and reviewed in each additional tutoring class. Students will not have any homework. However, students are encouraged to practice at home. The teacher and student will spend the sessions with a quick welcome, and we will jump into the content. We will work through instruction, games, and engaging activities that support learning. First class is always an assessment. The student will work with the teacher to assess their skills. This will be both math and literacy. Then each additional class will be based on the assessment. The teacher will then email the assessment results to the parent/guardian. At that time, parents will be informed of the tutoring plan and encouraged to communicate their ideas or ask further questions. Students will work with the teacher based on the student's assessment that was completed in the first class.
Learning Goals
An assessment will be completed in the first class, and goals will be developed based on that information.
