Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this self-paced math boot camp class, we will be reviewing all of the following prerequisite concepts that will help students prepare for taking AP Statistics. To succeed in this class, it is best for students to have completed up through Algebra II.

Week 1 - Fractions, Decimals, Percentages & Linear Equations
Week 2 - Logarithms
Week 3 - Data Displays and Scatter Plots / Mean, Median, and Mode
Week 4 - Introduction to Probability

Since this is a self-paced class, lessons will be recorded and posted on the Outschool Classroom page. Each lesson will be taught through slides while students take down notes in their notebooks. Students are expected to watch the video and take notes on the material that is delivered. I will then prompt students to pause the video and work on the classwork problems independently. After they have done that, they can continue to watch the video and see my explanations for the classwork problems. This is a great way for them to assess themselves immediately and know where they are comfortable and where they need extra practice.

After students complete the classwork and watch through the lesson video, they will be able to work on the homework (through Khan Academy) for that day. I highly encourage students to submit their homework each week after they have watched the lesson videos. This allows me to see how they are understanding the material and give actionable feedback if they reach out for assistance so they can learn from their mistakes and use what they learn when they view future lesson topics.
