In this class, students will be taught Precalculus. In this first quarter of the school year we will cover the following topics: Precalculus Basics, Graphing and Characteristics of Functions, and Polynomial and Rational Functions. The class will be structured so that each topic is a unit of learning. The class will begin with a opening activity, review of homework questions, then a lecture or skill building activity, and finally a lesson closer. I will teach using a combination of guided notes and powerpoints using the zoom/outschool platform. My teaching style is a combination of direct instruction, peer to peer interaction, and student discussion. Students will interact with me, the teacher, through the following mediums: lecture, games, slides, video clips, projects, and discussion. Student should have passed Algebra 2 and Geometry before taking this class. Students will be assigned practice problems, worksheets, reflections, or activity links on websites like Quizlet and Quizizz to build math fluency. This class will be in depth and challenging. It is especially recommended for students who plan to major in stem fields or who will be taking calculus in the next school year. I have taught Precalculus for the past 2 years and it is definitely one of my most enjoyable classes Unit 1 - Precalculus Basics - Week 1, 2, and 3 Unit 2 - Graphing and Characteristics of Functions - Weeks: 4, 5, and 6 .Unit 3 - Polynomial and Rational Functions - Weeks: 7, 8, and 9
