** Students must complete Level 2 of Pre-K Performers (private, flex or group class) before enrolling** Bravo! You've reached the finale of this course. This month, students will focus on bowing across all four strings and be introduced to rhythmic music symbols as it relates to the pieces they've learned so far. As students grow more accustomed to lessons we may run over class time by no more than 5 minutes (25 minutes max). Below is an approximate outline of each week's lesson. Week 1 Review material from the previous levels Introduce Piece #1 Week 2 Musically spell a new word on violin that uses three of the four strings Learn how to clap rhythmic syllables for two notes Week 3 Introduce Piece #2 Week 4 Playing piano and forte with the bow Review both pieces learned with the bow If students are interested in continuing lessons, please look for the ongoing class 'Pre-K Performers Encore: Private Violin Lessons'

Supply List
Supplies are the same for the last two levels except we will no longer use the egg carton for bow practice during the lesson. Students are free to continue using it to isolate practicing their bow arm and/or bow direction. If a student seems ready, I will ask for certain stickers to be removed as they progress.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello All! My name is Ms. Sara and I am a music teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Music Performance (viola). My musical journey began at the age of 6 when I begged my parents for violin lessons after watching an episode of Sesame Street that featured the instrument. I eventually picked up the viola in addition to violin and continued with it through college.
Since then, I have taught hundreds of students from all over the world at public schools in the US and international schools in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) where I taught using American, British and IB curriculums. Most of my experience lies in teaching Pre-K- 6th grade (Early Years - Year 7) general music, drama, and middle school orchestra.
I like to teach general music because of the wide variety of topics that can be explored. I enjoy taking an interdisciplinary approach to teaching music that incorporates other subjects such as reading/literacy, math, technology and arts such as movement or crafts.
My favorite class to teach right now is the Pre-K Performers series. I love seeing the progress students make from not knowing anything about violin to playing music on their own!
I'm so excited to teach students on Outschool where I can create and share my favorite lessons. As I continue curating and developing classes to offer, any and all feedback is welcome.
Musically Yours,
Ms. Sara
