Description

Class Experience

Here are the concepts to be studied:

The continuing importance of basic math concepts
More of algebraic expressions
Word problems
Order of operations including rational and irrational numbers
Equations with whole numbers and rational numbers
Basic equations with all operations
Longer equations with all operations
Complex equations with all operations
For most of the last two decades, I've seen many students assigned to grade-level math courses that they were nowhere near ready to take, much less succeed in...There's getting into Algebra I, and then there's being able to function in it. Algebra I is no joke!
Homework
It will be assigned in each class, logged for student and parent notification, and reviewed at the next meeting. About three to six hours per week should be allotted for it. Students should check their work for errors, which will let them know whether their answers are right or wrong.
Worksheets will be provided. Pencils, sharpeners, extra mechanical pencil leads, at least five sheets of paper, and a charger go a long way.
An informal assessment applies.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
Worksheets will be provided.
