Class Experience

Students will improve their mathematic skills of knowing the times tables.
I once played this along with many other math games in the class room and what I have come to learn is that many students love playing games. So making a game out of something they need to learn even better. While in class I put students in pairs and I have one person put down the cards while the other figures out the math. And For a real challenge the person putting down the cards could also answer and try writing down their answer if they are able to. This is where both students have to help each other and be cooperative.
I will not be assigning any homework. However students can practice this at home with their own cards or dice.
All that is required is that the student have pencil and paper or dry erase board and dry erase marker.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will be using a set of playing card they are labeled bicycle standard playing cards. Nothing out of the original. The standard hearts, cloves, spades, and diamond shapes are on the cards. And I will be removing the Joker, king, queen and jack from the pack so only using 2-10 cards. I was thinking of labeling the jack an 11 and king a 12 but I'm not sure if the students will remember that. I'll make it an option to ask the students during class.
