This yummy lesson will include documenting the process of creating a sandwich using PowerPoint's ability to use process mapping principles. We will explore the ability of PowerPoint to create process mapping and then create our very own sandwich! We will spend time exploring the creative part of PowerPoint to create individualistic designs of our process maps and cover how to print our final design. The first 30 minutes will be devoted to exploring this tool of PowerPoint and the cornerstones of process mapping. We will then create our sandwiches and enjoy our yummy treats together!
Students will learn the fundamentals of process mapping and its uses in breaking a process down in to micro-steps.
Parents: Please be prepared to supply sandwich making materials. In the example provided by the instructor, we will use peanut butter, jam, and bread. Parents can provide any sandwich making materials they deem appropriate. While this course is completed using PowerPoint, students could also use Google Slides - however the instructor will be using PowerPoint and may not be able to compare the different tools
I teach this same course to business professionals - minus the yummy learning aid! We utilize process mapping to take large procedures and break them down in to manageable and understandable steps. This learning tool also assists in learning how to read process maps to create comprehension of large scale procedures.
