What's included
1 live meeting
50 mins in-class hoursHomework
1 hour per week. Students will trace the lion head onto their own watercolor (or mixed media) paper before the start of class. After class, students will need to select their words from the brainstorming list posted and write their words on their painting.Class Experience
In this class, students will learn about positive affirmations, and how they can help us to remember all of the wonderful and unique things about each of us. Words are powerful, and using them often in a positive way can help to encourage us when we are trying new challenges, as well as when we are having a hard time. Students will brainstorm positive words as a class, and the teacher will collect the words from the brainstorming session and type them into a document to post in the classroom (at the conclusion of class). The students will then paint the face of the lion, and then paint the wider parts of the lion's mane. If time permits, and if the manes are dry, students will then select the words to write on the mane. You will want to test the pen or fine tip marker on another paper before writing on your painting. After class, the students will be able to look at the list of words compiled as a class, and choose the words to include in their daily "I am...." affirmation. Students can then use their painting to read each day to remind them how amazing they are.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how daily positive affirmations can help support their growth to be a lifelong learner. By using positive and powerful words, students can learn to think kinder thoughts towards themselves and others.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome! I've taught in a traditional classroom, in a creative arts school setting, online, and as a home school Mom as needed with our own unique learners. I believe that arts, music, and books add so much to our days, and want to provide classes that support these areas with your learners too! I love learning new arts, and have even learned to paint and play the piano, recently, as an adult. I have been crocheting and sewing for about 30 years, and hope to share my knowledge with other lifelong learners who want to be brave and try new things! I believe enjoying the process is just as important, if not more, than the end product. I model imperfection and share my thought process in how to improve our experiences. I hope to see you soon!
