Description
Class Experience
Students will complete a portrait every two weeks. The class will begin with an introduction of myself and fellow students and inquire the artistic goals of each student. We will draw portraits using highlight, mid-tone, core shadow, reflected light, proportion, and various other techniques. The first class of the week will focus on line and proportion while the second class meeting will involve shading and form. Students will develop their drawing skills pertaining to portraiture .They will have a better understanding of value, proportion, and shape relating to the human head, face, neck, and hair.
Charcoal or graphite pencils, blending tool(Q-tip, blending stub, napkin, paint brush), sketch paper, kneaded eraser or plain eraser, ruler. A printer or digital copy of the portrait ( I will attach the image to the class discussion page)
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
