Letter of the week preschool curriculum using math, fine and gross motor skills, songs and social skills to introduce the littlest learners to the wonderful world of learning! Each week we will focus on a different letter. We will learn the name and sound of the letter and use activities to reinforce the letter concept. Each day will start the same with a welcome song, introducing the letter with a letter story, daily activity, and end the day with our goodbye song. While we will use the same letter for the entire week each day will focus on a different activity or skill related to that week’s letter. Repetition is so important for the little learners so each day will have the same hello and goodbye song but the activity for the day we differ based on the day of the week. That way if you join us one day or five each day will be a little different and further help reinforce letter concepts. The days of the week will be as follows: Movement Monday (We will use our bodies to make the letter of the week as well as work on gross motor concepts that begin with that week’s letter) Tactile Tuesday (We will use manipulatives such as playdoh and work on fine motor skills to build the letter of the week) Wordy Wednesday (We will make a list of words that start with the letter of the week and act them out- i.e. snake- slither on the floor) Show and Tell Thursday (Friends will bring an item to class that starts with that week’s letter and we will share with our friends) Fun Friday (We may play a game, read a silly story or sing some songs) As little learners, they sometimes have the wiggles and that is okay! We will be working on learning how to be in a classroom with other friends. I will keep everyone un-muted as we will be working on taking turns. If for some reason a student is having a little bit of trouble or there is a lot of background noise, I may have to mute a student until it is their turn. Preschool is all about exploring ad learning so I will have each student have turns answering questions and sharing what they want with the class. Students love to share and I want to encourage that but I will keep it on track and have the students save some thoughts until the end. This is an ongoing class and I know there will be different students in classes but I do hope to see many of the same faces so the children can build that community with one another. I will not be teaching the letters of the alphabet in alphabetical order as children develop the ability to make the sounds of some letters easier than others. I will be teaching the letters in the following order: November: Oct 31- Nov 4: Letter Ss 7-11: Letter Aa 14-18: Letter Tt 21-25: Letter Pp (NO CLASS Thursday/Friday) [Will Refund] 28- Dec 2: Letter Mm (NO CLASS Thursday/Friday) [Will Refund] December: 5-16: BREAK NO Class 19-23: Letter Ii 26-30: NO CLASS Christmas/New Years January 2023: 2-6: Letter Nn 9-13: Letter Dd 16-20: Letter Gg 23-27: Letter Oo I hope to see you in class as we learn the letters of the alphabet.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Tracy or as my students call me Miss Tracy! I currently teach ESL classes online to children ages 4-10 and love getting to meet so many new faces. Before that I spent my time in preschool classrooms getting to introduce the littlest learners (3-4 years old) the ways of school and getting used to school environments. The best part of teaching young students is I get to introduce them to the wonderful world of science, math, art, reading, and so much more! The smiles on their faces as they start to understand is priceless and keeps me wanting to come back and teach them more!
I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and am certified to teach K-6. I also have obtained a certificate in the religious Montessori program Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for the 3-6-year old child. I have worked in preschool settings for about the last 6 years but have nannied and tutored for children of all ages. I have been working with children in some capacity since the age of 12, or for those counting the last 17 years! Children make me happy and keep me smiling!
Children have wonderful minds and I love seeing them in action! I believe teachers are there to be the guiding lights but that children will lead how far they can be challenged! I love giving the children the building blocks to make connections and discover new things but letting them get there on their own when they are ready! Each child is unique and I love having a classroom full of students eager to learn and gain insight and knowledge not only from me as the teacher but their peers as well! Children are complex creatures who need nurtured and I love creating that through hands on learning experiences for their minds to grow and explore!
Both of my parents are blind but that hasn't stopped either of them or myself from living life! They instilled a love for travel at a very young age and I yearn to travel again soon! They work hard and have always taught me that nothing can stop you! That is what I want to instill in my students!
