Today, in the United States, acne is the most common skin condition. About 85 percent of teens experience some type of acne, from mild to severe. Not only can it cause severe skin damage, but it's effects on self-esteem can be long lasting too. Concepts covered in this class include: 1. What is Acne? 2. Why you shouldn't pop pimples 3. Contributing factors 4. Treatments Students will watch a series of short animated videos on acne and also on how to treat it. There will be a discussion time with Q&A. We will also be making a sugar scrub at the end of class. The required ingredients will be posted under the supply list. There will be no required homework. However, if your child is struggling with acne I would recommend keeping a food journal. These are excellent for keeping track of factors, mainly food, that could be contributing to your teen's acne.
