Class Experience

Note: This course is NOT meant for beginners who have never sculpted with Polymer Clay.

In this class, we will work together to learn the steps needed to design and then create each portion of our adorable miniature Warrior Cats. Different camera views will be used to show each step of the way. We will condition, cut, roll and form our pieces. Then we will assemble our body parts and get them prepared to be baked after class is over. First, we will design our custom cats on paper. I will have a template to use. Then, we will start blending colors and forming our parts. We will assemble and bake our basic cat parts after class, then bring it back to the following class for details and/or painting. If additional parts/features were added, you will need to bake a second time. I will go over how to lacquer the clay after baking if the students want a professional, glossy finished look.

Class #1- Design, condition clay, form body and head
*Bake Body and Head*
Class #2- Assemble baked head to body, add face and details
*A second baking may be necessary if additional parts were added*

**Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally 275 °F, depending on your brand of clay). You may do this after class. Parental help is necessary.
