Are you a dedicated Pokémon Trainer, a fan of the games, or someone who simply loves the world of Pokémon? Whether you're a seasoned battler, a collector of rare cards, or just enjoy the adventures in every Pokémon game, this social club is the perfect place for you! This social club is for all Pokémon fans: whatever knowledge you have—whether it's about the anime, card game, video game or movies—everything is welcome here! On my end, I will listen attentively and ask each student personalized questions designed to elicit clearer and more detailed descriptions of this fandom they so love. Show and tell, along with interaction between the students themselves. will be strongly encouraged! Indeed, students will take turns developing key social skills such as listening to others attentively, and building upon conversations with respect and encouragement. Students will also develop affinity with their fellow fans and feel a sense of belonging in our group. Most of all, this social club is a 'safe space' where all are welcomed and accepted just as they are. Our club brings together fans to celebrate everything Pokémon. We dive into the latest games, discuss strategies, share our collections, and, most importantly, connect with fellow Trainers. Whether you're here to trade, battle, or just talk about your favorite Pokémon, you'll find a welcoming and fun community! All of my classes are inclusive for ALL learners. As such, they are ESL, neurodivergent and autism friendly. Week of August 18th. Class 1: Today we will discuss everyone's favorite Pokémon and the reasons behind their choices. Whether it's based on design, stats, or nostalgia, this can lead to interesting conversations about each learner's personal connections to the series. Week of August 25th. Class 2: Explore the deeper lore of the Pokémon world, including fan theories, in-game myths, and the origins of Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. This can be a great way to delve into the storytelling aspects of the series. Week of September 1st. Class 3: Today students will discuss Pokemon trivia! Be ready for an extra-special Pokemon quiz for true fans! Week of September 8th. Class 4: In today's class, we will share fan art, discuss the design of various Pokémon, and maybe even host a drawing session focused on creating your own very own Pokémon!

Hello! My name is Teacher Mary and I have been teaching English Language Arts, creative writing, writing essentials, English second language, history, as well as debate and public speaking in the Canadian school system for over 20 years now! Teaching is truly my passion! I hold a Bachelor's Degrees in both English Literature and History. Further, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education with an advanced degree in Teaching English as A Second Language. (I have also written material for English Second Language textbooks that are currently being used in the school system in Quebec, Canada.) And finally, I completed my Master's Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing in 2012. I am legally certified to teach Kindergarten to Grade 12 in both the provinces of British Columbia, and Quebec, Canada. I take pride in helping my students learn to express themselves. As a mother of three teenage daughters, I absolutely understand the very real anxiety and self-doubt so many of our children are battling. I truly believe that the act of self expression can be a wonderful outlet for evacuating stress and negative emotions. I strive to create classes for my students that are exciting, interactive, and fun!
