This class is taught in English.
Prior knowledge of paragraph writing is helpful, but not necessary, as these are skills we will be working on within our sessions. Learners who take this class will improve their paragraph writing.
My educational goal is to enable your student to become engaged in English Language Arts through a common theme - Pokemon. By tapping into your learner's Pokemon enthusiasm, they are active and engaged in their learning process. With over 4,000 Outschool students and 800+ Outschool teaching hours, in engaging, educational, and inspiring themed English Language courses, I am confident my experience in the subject matter and Pokemon. I am a certified Tennessee K-8th grade teacher. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English, Communications, and Print Media. You will find more about my Outschool teaching journey on various media outlets, including CBS New York, Business Insider, and the American Board for Teacher Excellence. My personal goal is for your learner to have a positive, educational experience with Outschool. If you have a learner who is outside the range of the class, please contact me in order to make accommodations. If a class section is full, and it is the only time you can take the class, contact me as well - I am always willing to work with an eager learner.

Writing should take between 1-2 hrs per week. We write 4 paragraphs0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
This class employs the use of a writing rubric. This non-graded sheet gives your writer a complete understanding of their writing with both visual and written indications. This class uses external resources. These tools, Google Jamboard, Forms, and Google Drive are approved Outschool Third-Party tools. Students do not need to create accounts to use these tools. Youtube class videos are embedded on the Outschool classroom page, are unclickable, and students are not able to exit the classroom to access these videos. Genially and Random Pokemon Generator do not require a login and open in a separate tap. Outschool respects your learners' Personal Identifiable Information (PII), and so do I. When writing their stores, please do not share any information that identifies a learner by the last name, address, geographical location, or other PII. This class will also NOT share any gaming codes or names by learners. If so, they are promptly deleted. Please note that writing, grammar, and spelling errors will occur, which is expected as your student masters the writing process. This class will not correct grammar or spelling. *Instagram is not used in this class, a Google Slide is used to create the parts of a social media post to understand media literacy.
