Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
At Paragraph Academy, your learner will embark on an exciting Pokémon-themed adventure, all while mastering the art of paragraph writing! This unique class turns learning into a fun-filled journey, where learners "travel" through different Pokémon regions, capturing Pokémon who will help them become skilled writers.

Throughout the course, learners will explore three types of writing: opinion, informative, and narrative. They’ll learn how to express their views, share information, and tell captivating stories—all while building their writing confidence!

✨ Brainstorming: Your learner will start by generating creative ideas for their writing, just like a Pokémon getting ready for an exciting new quest.

✨ Organizing and Planning: Next, they’ll learn how to organize their thoughts and plan their paragraphs, ensuring their ideas are structured, clear, and ready for action—like assembling the ultimate Pokémon team!

✨ First Draft: As they continue their journey, learners will draft their first paragraphs, encouraged to write freely without fear of making mistakes. Every Pokémon knows that practice leads to victory!

✨ Revision and Editing: Learners will learn to revise their work, improving clarity, grammar, and overall quality, much like evolving their Pokémon to become stronger.

✨ Final Draft: Finally, they’ll polish their paragraphs to perfection, ready to present their best work with the confidence of a true Pokémon Champion!

Welcome to My Classroom! 🌟

Hi there! I’m Miss Sammi, and I’m so excited to be part of your child’s learning adventure! I studied Early Childhood Education at the University of Toledo, where hands-on experiences with children helped me discover my passion for teaching. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to creating fun, supportive learning environments that inspire growth and confidence.

Beyond teaching, I have over 10 years of experience as an advanced esthetician. My passion for skincare comes from my own struggles with acne as a teen, which sparked a deep desire to help others feel confident in their skin. I’ve brought this knowledge into the classroom, offering insights on self-care and confidence-building alongside academic growth.

I am also neurodivergent, and I understand that each learner's brain works uniquely. I use my own experiences to create an inclusive, understanding, and supportive classroom. This perspective allows me to better connect with learners and tailor lessons in a way that respects and embraces individual learning styles.

At home, I’m a creative mom who designs interactive games to keep my son engaged, and I bring that same creativity into my personalized, tailored classes. I believe play is a powerful tool for building confidence, problem-solving skills, and imagination, and I use it to create unique learning experiences that are customized to each learner's needs and interests. This allows every learner to feel excited and motivated as they progress at their own pace.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me with my animal family! 🐾 Friends often call me ‘Snow White’ because of my love for animals. I care for five cats 🐱, a dog 🐶, a turtle 🐢, a bearded dragon 🦎, and a Betta fish 🐟! I also look after the local wildlife, including deer, birds, raccoons, and opossums.

My goal is to create a nurturing, fun, and dynamic classroom where learners feel comfortable, respected, and motivated to learn. By keeping my classes small, I ensure each learner receives the attention they deserve. In my classes, learners not only strengthen academic skills but also build confidence, creativity, and communication skills that will benefit them for life.

I can’t wait to meet your learner and embark on this exciting journey together! Feel free to reach out with any questions—I’m thrilled to be part of your child’s educational growth!
