Class Experience

In this class, we will learn about Eevee and its evolutions. We will discuss why the different evolutions look the way they do, and how they function in the Pokemon world. Afterward, students will have an opportunity to create their own Eeveelution. They will be given time to brainstorm and then draw their creation. Once everyone is finished, we will share our new Pokemon creations and discuss how they would fit into the Pokemon world.

We will start with a presentation about the Eeveelutions. At the end, I will give students ideas for creating their own Eeveelution and give them some time to brainstorm and discuss their ideas. They will then be given time to draw their creation and afterward, we will share our work and discuss it.

I strive for my classroom to have a relaxed and friendly environment. I encourage a lot of output and discussion, but I also understand some students may be shy and I will not force them to talk. However, every student should create an Eeveelution and present it to the class.

We will be drawing our creation on paper. Please make sure you bring pencils, paper, and something to color with (crayons, colored pencils, markers, gel pens, etc.) Everyone is welcome regardless of art skills. The goal is not to draw perfectly, but to create something fun and new!
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the design choices behind the current Eeveelutions. For example: Why is Vaporeon called Vaporeon? Why does it have a fishtail? Why is it blue? They will also discuss and brainstorm other animal features and their purpose when creating their own Eeveelution.
