Class Experience

Hello to all Pokéfans and trainers!

Do you (or your child) like to imagine pokemon living in our world? Do you like to think about what pokemon would live in your neighborhood and the places you visit?

If the answer to those questions is "yes," and you're looking to learn the basics of American regional geography, this is the class for you! We will learn about the physical and political (man made) features of the USA's regions, imagining which pokemon would thrive there as we do so.

What will we do in this class?
We will:
- Look at images of the area under study (using a powerpoint and screen sharing)
- Go on Google Maps (as relevant) to look at the area
- Draw pictures of the area with pokemon inhabiting the land as we learn more about the sites and cities of the region
- Discuss our thoughts on which pokemon would thrive in the region - and which ones WOULD NOT!

And of course, we will meet each other and show each other our cool pokemon stuff! (Roughly the first 5 minutes of each lesson)

What materials will we receive?
- Regional Maps of the USA to write in the states and capitals
- Fact sheets for key details about the region and space to draw pokemon!

What regions will we learn about?
1. New England (Connecticut, MA, RI, NH, VT, ME)
2. Southeast (Virginia, WV, NC, SC, TN, GA, AL, FL, MS, AR, LA)
3. West (California, NV, UT, CO, WA, OR, ID, MT, WY)

I hope to meet you soon,
Ms. Elizabeth
