Calling all Pokemon fans! Choose your Pokemon and prepare for the journey ahead in the Hoenn Region. Together in this camp, we will train our Pokemon by learning terminology (carrying, place values, etc.), introducing two styles of multiplication and division (old vs. new style) and practice solving various problems in the form of gym leader battles. Are you ready to be the very best and obtain all 8 badges in our journey? Schedule: Day 1: What is Multiplication: Terminology What is...
By the end of this camp, students will have experience with double digit multiplication and 2-3 digit division problems using 2 styles. Those two styles being the "Old Style" and the "New Style". Students will also gain experience with terminology and best practices for solving problems. All of this will occur within the Pokemon world while students battle other Pokemon for gym badges.
Each class will have an optional activity covering the topic/concepts we learned in class that day, where students will have an opportunity to gather another gym badge! This will take the form of several practice problems as students battle the gym leader and multiple Pokemon.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
4 hours 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
