In this course, students will be introduced to several different types of poems and get a chance to practice writing in those styles. Those styles include concrete, acrostic, haiku, limerick, couplet, cinquain, diamante, clerihew, book spine, autobiographical, and free verse. Each week they will view several examples and discuss the characteristics (lines, stanzas, rhymes, rhythm, etc) of the specific poem. After that, learners will start to brainstorm and write one or both types of poems...
This class is taught in English.
- Learners will brainstorm and write a variety of poetry with the teacher's support and feedback.
Ms. Ann is a certified Pre-K to 8th-grade teacher and has taught this specific topic for over 10 years.
The only supplies needed are paper and pencil.
