Do you love poetry or song lyrics? The Poetry Club for Girls is a place where you can share your favorite poems or song lyrics. (maybe even some you've composed yourself!) We'll discuss why we love them, the elements of poetry, favorite poets, the writing process, and other fun topics. Poets, song writers, and the people who admire their work are a unique and special group. An online club is a perfect venue for these people to get together, hang out, and share. At the same time, girls have a special place to make new friends, inspire each other, find support for their ideas and work, and provide support to others. Time allowing, we can talk about other topics of interest to club members.
Learning Goals
Students will:
Read and listen to poetry and song lyrics
Engage in kind, respectful discussion about poetry, poets, the writing process, and other topics of interest.
Support each other in expressing ideas and feelings
Listen thoughtfully to the ideas and feelings of others

Supply List
Bring your poem to share, including a written copy that everyone will be able to read along with as you share. (or you can tell me in advance so I can provide the written copy for the group) You may want to have some paper and art supplies handy for writing or drawing your responses to poetry and lyrics that are shared.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
