Playground Physics (Grades 2-5)
During this class, students will explore typical playground equipment and park activities, and how physics makes them work. There will be a few demonstrations the teacher will perform with hand on materials, and a handout with ideas to try!

In this fun STEM class, students will look at playgrounds and parks in a new way, discovering how physics is behind all the fun! They'll explore some of their favorite common playground equipment and activities, learning how they work through the principles of physics. Through diagrams, videos, and small demonstrations with students will be able to visualize these concepts. Each student will receive a handout summarizing what we've learned and with some fun ideas to try at home. This class promises to be both educational and entertaining, sparking curiosity and a love for science in the students who participate!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how gravity is used on the playground.
Students will learn about forces that act on them when using playground equipment or playing simple playground games.
