All learners should have read the play prior to the start of the course in order to engage in a comprehensive discussion and study of the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by Shakespeare. It doesn't matter how long ago the play was read - it could have been ages as long as it was read! (A copy will be provided just in case a learner needs it.)

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a commonly assigned and produced show, and the objective of this course is to provide a guided discussion around the themes of the show. We will approach from a literary standpoint and discuss writing style, devices, and plot, then segue into staging of the show and how specific themes can change or expand based on choices by directors and actors.

Students will get the opportunity to share what they have learned throughout their own interactions with the show as well as challenge themselves to see the play from a different standpoint.
