Class
Jessie McKeon
Average rating:4.9Number of reviews:(55)
In this one-time course, we will analyze and discuss "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a theatre professional. This is a great class to broaden understanding of the play after reading, to prep for an audition, or review before an exam!

Class experience

US Grade 8 - 11
This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their knowledge of the plot, devices, writing style, and theme while also expanding their abilities in play analysis
I hold a BA in Performing and Visual Arts with a focus in Early British Drama and Shakespeare and have won several awards for my work in this field. I have spent over 20 years studying and producing the works of Shakespeare and his contemporaries.
In my classes we use video, guests, and unconventional tools to learn the topic together. I design all of my instruction around first creating a safe space, then doing what I call a "Sweep the Corners" review at the start of each session. At the completion of the course, we always Pack Up our learning and set off into our vast world!

 1 file available upon enrollment
Students should have a copy of the play and any notes they may want to augment or share. (Notes are not required.) If desired, students can use the provided Folger Shakespeare Library edition provided; I will be teaching from a printed Mass Market Paperback edition available on Amazon for under $10. The texts are identical.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
All discussion will be kept appropriate for ages 13-18 and parents will be notified in the event that their student violates class covenant and boundaries
I will provide a digital copy of the script.
I studied Early British Drama for 3 semesters in college as part of the focus of my major in Visual and Performing Arts and am a Shakespeare scholar, so my expertise is part of the source materials. I will also be accessing materials provided by Folger Shakespeare Library.
