Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 7
In this class I will work one on one with the learner and their dog. We will create fun learning games to teach basic obedience skills, tricks, or behavior problem resolution. We will learn ways to manage doggie mealtimes and play sessions to make them more rewarding. I can even help your learner discover a sport that they can participate in with their canine partner! Message me ahead of time with the desired skills your learner wants to teach their dog. Then we can make sure this class is a good fit, and I can plan some learning games.

The class will be one on one discussion, and I will demonstrate games with my dog live or through a pre recorded video. Then I'll watch your learner/canine team and help them with the games. Teaching dogs (and people) is all about breaking down something they don't know into small, attainable challenges, and having lots of fun along the way!

Some things we can work on are:
Basic skills such as come, sit, down, stay, and heal; burning doggie energy without wearing yourself out; enrichment games; anxiety and reactivity; intro to agility, flyball, and other sports games; and settling behavior. And of course, tricks!

The learner will be encouraged to ask questions, and they will also learn to plan training activities of their own. Positive reinforcement will be used for both human and canine learners. I love watching people discover the genius inside their dog! Let's have a learning adventure with your learner's best canine friend!

Learning Goals

Besides helping teach their dogs the desired skills, I want learners to experience the fun of positive training. I also want their canines to discover the fun of reward based learning.

Hi, I’m Ms. Christiane
I teach classes about some of the amazing animals we share the planet with. There are so many fascinating facts about creatures, and so much to learn about communicating with them, keeping them, and appreciating them.

I am a veterinary nurse. In my spare time I train and care for my own pets. In the past I enjoyed presenting children’s programs with my reptiles and border collie sidekick, Drus. Drus performed his tricks and skits with a flare that captured the attention of young and old. Training him taught me so much.

I want to instill an awe and appreciation for every creature I teach about-bug, snake, dog-everything! I believe the best way to do this is showing learners that all creatures are amazing and important individuals. This happens when they meet and learn about my personal animals, watch amazing animal action videos, and play games or take quizzes to help them feel confident in what they learn.
