Did you know that there are plants that eat bugs and small animals? Welcome to the world of carnivorous plants! In this class students will be introduced to three different carnivorous plants: venus flytrap, pitcher plants, and sundew plants! Throughout our class we will explore, discuss, and answer these questions and others: Why do these plants capture bugs and small animals? How do they lure and trap their prey? How do the plants "eat" the bugs that they trap? Don't forget to bring your own wonderings and questions about carnivorous plants!
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to carnivorous plants- venus flytrap, pitcher plants, and sundew plants!
Students will learn how each plant lures, traps, and digests its prey.

I have been teaching in the classroom for 15 years, and have experience teaching students in grades K-5 in both general education and special education settings. I hold current teaching certifications in the areas of early childhood education, elementary education, and special education.
