This class will explore what a plant, a pumpkin in particular, needs to grow, and how those parts work together. Have your paper and pencil ready to draw with Karin

Class experience

Students will:
 - determine the needs of plants
- discover the parts of the plants and how their function is connected to what it needs
- gain an appreciation of the diversity within the squash family
- create a drawing of a pumpkin plant that can be referred to after the presentation.
Please have a sheet of paper to draw on. You will also need a pencil, crayons, markers or coloured pencils. Please have a surface to draw on - a table, or a clipboard or a large book.
This is optional, but if you'd like to have a small pumpkin with you during the presentation, that's just fine. We will not be carving or cutting up a pumpkin during the presentation though. I will have one already halved.
