In this One-Time class, learners will explore place value in an interactive and fun way. Students will be able to identify the ones and tens place in numbers and use base-10 blocks/drawings to count and show two digit numbers.

Hello! In this One-Time class, learners ages 5-9 will explore place value in a fun and interactive way! We will first discuss what place value means, as well as digits in a number. We will discuss how to remember if a digit is in the tens or ones place with songs and demonstration. We will brainstorm numbers together and practice identifying the numbers in the tens and ones place. Then, we will use base-10 drawings to break apart numbers into tens and ones. We will also identify numbers using base-10 flashcards and solidify learning through the use of a game! I believe meeting students where they are at academically is so important and I will be accessing throughout class to determine the next direction that instruction should take. I also believe it is paramount that learning be engaging, so we will be having fun in class! Please join me on this journey of place value! I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!
