Join us in this exciting, ongoing student-led class where Piggy lovers can meet new friends, unleash their creativity, and challenge each other in Piggy Build Mode on a safe, private server! Every other month, we’ll choose a new game theme from a list of creative ideas, and learners will have the opportunity to design, create, and share their own Piggy stages based on that theme. Test your skills and have fun exploring each other’s creations! How It Works: Roblox Account Setup: Each learner must download the Roblox app and create a free account with parental permission before class begins. Create Your Piggy Stage: Each month, we’ll select a new game theme from our list, and students will design their Piggy stage based on that theme. Add Me on Roblox: At the start of the class, students will add me, “Mrs. Mareeka,” to their Roblox friend list. Join the Private Server: Once I accept the friend request, students will join me on my private Piggy server. Last-Minute Touches: Learners will have 20 minutes at the beginning of class to make any final adjustments to their Piggy stage. Share & Play: Starting at the 25-minute mark, each learner will share their Piggy stage with the class, and we’ll take turns playing each game. Feedback & Collaboration: After each match, students will share their thoughts and offer constructive suggestions to one another. Class Expectations: This class is a welcoming space for Piggy enthusiasts to connect, create, and have fun. All learners are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience for everyone. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I'm Mareeka Edwards, a proud homeschooling mom with a background in Early Childhood Montessori Education. Before pursuing my passion for teaching, I worked as a Medical Laboratory Technician and was on the path to becoming a Chemical Engineer. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to pause my Chemical Engineering studies. But as they say, "Everything happens for a reason." This led me to open my own tutoring company in 2011, which eventually grew into themed summer camps, a home daycare, and now, online tutoring with Outschool.
Teaching is my passion, and I firmly believe that learning takes many forms. In our home, we’re always exploring new ideas or honing existing skills.
I’m excited to teach Math, Phonics, Reading & Comprehension, Spelling, Coding, and Science classes for learners aged 4 to 12.
In my classroom, learners will have their mics on throughout the session to encourage interaction and collaboration. I kindly ask that everyone raise their hands before answering questions and show respect by not speaking over one another. My goal is to create a classroom environment that feels like home—where learners can be themselves and express their thoughts freely.
