Class Experience

Welcome to the exciting world of Rebus puzzles, where students will:
Reason and
Examine
By
Uncovering
Symbols!

Rebus puzzles are pictures that represent words and sentences, and you solve the puzzles by figuring out what these pictures mean. Rebus puzzles challenge, educate, and entertain both children and adults alike!

In this multi day course, students will use their critical thinking skills, letter recognition, sound skills, and vocabulary recollection to solve riddles given to them by me in class. For example, a picture of a tree will be given plus a picture of a house. The answer would be a "treehouse." This is a great way to keep their minds sharp over long breaks from school, while also having fun and meeting other students!

During the first half of class, we will take turns solving the puzzles, or if the children wish, we can break up into teams and solve them together. Next, in class we will spend a few minutes drawing our own puzzles. Lastly, we will share our drawing to see if others in the class can guess what the students have drawn themselves. Each class will have different puzzles to solve and an opportunity to share puzzles the students have made themselves.

No prior knowledge or experience needed.
