Average rating:4.6Number of reviews:(11)
Private piano lessons, for beginners(new to piano and music-level 2 or so). Teaching the basics with music theory, technique, traditional lesson books to preparation for performances. Willing to teach out of most book series.

Class experience

Learning goals will be based on the age of the child and the book placement. Overall the goal is to learn music in a fun and uplifting way.
Taught in person lessons for 5-6 years, and on-line for about 3 years total. The total of about 8 years with my current and former overseas students. From just the very basics to advanced lessons we covered fundamentals to theory, scales and yes performance/recital pieces. Age range from 4years to adults going from no experience to just trying to relearn the basics. The last few years I’ve spent time tutoring children in the UK for the ABRSM exams, and now have a few of my own preparing for their first exams as well.

I have taught from several different book series, helping families pick up where they left off. (Teaching with new families overseas, I tried to keep each child in the books they were comfortable working with). From Piano Adventures, Alfred’s, John Thompson, and even the UK ABRSM books for exams. I’ve had experience teaching all, levels 1-5 in most cases.

As well as college education in music theory, piano and vocal training.
Homework Offered
Each child will have weekly homework from music theory to weekly lessons to practice. The goal is 10-20 minutes a day depending on the age and placement in books and styles.
