Piano Made Fun, Part 1, Ages 4-5

This 4 week class would be perfect curious 4-5 year olds who love exploring the piano. They will be introduced to the basics of playing the instrument and learn simple songs on the black keys using finger numbers.

1 hour per week. Student may practice the songs they learned during the lesson and complete fun worksheets assignments.

Class Experience

In this fun and hands-on class, young learners will  learn about the basics of playing the piano, including finger numbers,  groups of two and three black keys, music alphabet, and names of the white keys.
     Students will be learning to play songs on the black keys by finger numbers. 


Week  1: Introduction, getting familiar with the piano keyboard, learning high and low sounds, learning Right and Left Hand finger numbers. We will cover Unit 1 songs, Transportation Theme, playing with Right Hand, fingers 2, 3. 

Week  2 : We will cover Unit 2, the Insects Theme: we will learn how to play up to 4 songs on the 2 black keys using  Left Hand fingers 2, 3.   
               
Week 3 :  We will cover Unit 3, the Food Theme: we will learn how to play up to 4 songs on the 3 black keys using Right Hand  
                    fingers 2,3, and 4.

Week 4:  We will cover Unit 4 , the Animal Theme: We will learn to play up tho 4 songs on the 3 black keys with Left Hand fingers 2,3, and 4. We will have Mini Recital in our final class. We will review  songs we have learned. Then students will play their favorite songs for each other. 

In addition, we will cover the concepts, such as, Beat, Tempo, and Dynamics. 

Students will need to purchase a piano book "Pre-Reading Made Fun", blue starter book by Kevin and Julia Olson, available on amazon or sheetmusicplus.com. 
There will be additional printouts and worksheets provided to make learning about piano fun and engaging.

Parental Guidance
Students might need parents assistance during the lesson, as well as help with practicing outside the lesson.

Students may need some help from parents with navigating  around the keyboard and positioning  their fingers on the keys.
