This class is taught in English.
Students will learn the basics of Photoshop & be able to create their own artworks. Students who attend 5 or more classes can expect to learn about and use each of the following tools: - Pen tool - Shapes - Vector vs. Raster graphics - Layers & Layer Opacity - Brush tools & Eraser - Text tool & Character Window - Selections - Image transformations - Image Color Adjustments - Clone Stamp tool - Healing & Spot Healing brush
As a teacher with a Masters in Art Education, I taught Computer Technology in Art Education to 2nd year college students. I also used to teach Computer Art 1, 2, and 3 in a public high school.
Homework Offered
Students who do not finish the assignment during class time will be asked to finish outside of class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Materials Needed 💻 Computer or Laptop (Photoshop doesn't work on Chromebook.) 💻 Photoshop or Photopea 💡 If you have a good internet connection, you can use the free, online Photopea software, which works just like Photoshop, even on a Chromebook. You can find it here: https://www.photopea.com/ 💻 Access to Wikipedia to download images NOTE: ⛔ Do not use the iPad version of Photoshop for this class. It looks completely different and may confuse your learner. ⛔ Photoshop Elements is NOT the same as Photoshop.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
PRE-REQUISITE Students should know the basics of computer operation before registering for this class. Please check with your student to make sure they know how to: * use a mouse. (Please use a MOUSE, not a trackpad for this class!) * use Zoom to share their screen, give permission for the teacher to control the screen remotely, mute/unmute. * download a file from the Outschool class log-in page/ classroom. * unzip a *.zip file. * locate files downloaded to the computer or saved from Photoshop. * search for and download images using your browser using Google image search or similar. * upload files & post to Outschool's class log-in page/ classroom. ** If your learner is below the age threshold for this class or is not clear about the pre-requisites above, please attend a Photoshop 101 class or Phototoshop 101 (Camp) first.** Photopea.com is free online software that works nearly exactly like Adobe Photoshop. Students who have not purchased and installed Photoshop on their computer may opt to use Photopea instead if they have a strong internet connection.
