Class Experience

A picture says more than a thousand words. An old saying that is true in so many ways.
With a picture we can capture emotions and moods and turn an everyday object into something with deeper meaning and magic.

Each week a new challenge will be posted in the Outschool classroom that will challenge the students creativity, make them “think outside the box” and develop their photo skills.

The students have one week to photograph and send their five best photos to me for constructive feedback.

The themes will ask the students to capture emotions, sayings and everyday objects. With each challenge there will be a few questions to get the student to think in new ways.

Here are a few examples of themes;

The Road to Nowhere

My inner strength

Lightness

My favorite food

Tiny and huge

This challenge works for any student who wants to develop their visual creativity and like to take pictures.

Please, inform me of the device you use for your photos and if you have any previous photo and/or editing skills so I can give the best feedback.

The students should post their favorite photo in the Outschool classroom each week and tell the others how they developed their idea and how their photo fits into that week’s theme.

Every student is also responsible for giving the others constructive feedback to develop everyone’s visual creativity.

Teacher expertise and credentials
In my creative writing classes, I encourage students to draw from their experiences and thoughts to create unique pieces and share my passion for writing. This passion has been recognized with four awards for a short story and three poems, which I hope will inspire your students.

I am an immigrant from Sweden with a master's degree in education from Lund/Malmö University.
I am dedicated to forming connections with my students and customizing my teaching to suit their age. I aim to challenge my students while ensuring they never feel like failures. Patience, humor, and kindness are paramount in my approach.

As a teacher, I foster critical thinking through various activities such as research and discussions. The most rewarding part of my job is igniting my students' joy of learning and nurturing their curiosity about the world.

I believe in incorporating play into my teaching whenever possible, as I believe that everyone, regardless of age, has a playful side.

I have previously taught social and political science, religion, and geography and have nearly 25 years of experience working with children of different ages.

My diverse interests include folklore, photography, nature, books, and history, particularly on overlooked historical figures. I hope to share these interests with your students, sparking their curiosity and broadening their horizons.

I eagerly look forward to having your student in my class and am excited to embark on this learning journey together!
