Class Experience
Dive into the fundamentals of phonics and reading through engaging activities, interactive games, and individualized instruction. This class is designed for early readers who will enhance their decoding skills, vocabulary, and comprehension through structured lessons that foster a love for reading. Students will explore letter sounds, word patterns, and reading strategies, culminating in guided reading time with diverse texts suitable for their reading level. Our first session will be an informal assessment, so that I can determine your child’s specific needs.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to recognize & produce individual sounds, understand letter-sound relationships, blend sounds to form words, & segment words into individual sounds for decoding. They will also develop vocabulary by exploring word families & patterns.

My name is Jessica Rinzuello and I am so grateful to be here on Outschool! My life’s purpose is to teach and I cannot wait to meet your learner!
I am currently a first grade teacher at a private elementary school! I hold a bachelor's degree in Communications. I am also TESOL certified (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and an experienced reading tutor with the Orton-Gillingham approach. Online learning is here to stay and I can’t wait to make the experience in my virtual classroom a memorable and safe place for your learner.
My teaching approach is both interactive and heart-centered. I am a certified yoga teacher as well, so you’ll see in my classes I strive to create a peaceful and encouraging environment.
