It focuses specifically on writing persuasive (also known as argumentative) essays and the most common structure that educators look for when assigning these types of essays. Learners will be able to: -Choose an appropriate and relevant topic -Efficiently create an outline -Turn an outline into a first draft an essay -Include citations or outside evidence to support their claim -Learn how to write a rebuttal for a counterclaim -Refine a draft into finished product that follows the persuasive essay format
I am a licensed US teacher with experience in ELA classrooms in both public and private schools. I also have experience creating, administering, and grading essay exams.
Ideally, learners will have some existing general essay-writing knowledge, but may be looking for more guided assistance with persuasive essays in particular in this class. However, learners at all stages in learning are welcome.
